PORSCHE ROLLS OUT THE NEXT GENERATION HI-PO CAYENNE GTS TO SET SOME NEW BENCHMARKS

The Porsche Cayenne underwent a midcycle refresh just last year with the base model, the S E-Hybrid, the Cayenne S, the Turbo, and Turbo E-Hybrid being the first to launch. But if anyone noticed, the performance-oriented GTS was absent from the initial reveal. Given it's a staple of the Cayenne lineup and Porsche cars in general, there wasn't a chance in hell that the Zuffenhausen-based automaker was going to forget about it and thus, it was only a matter of time until the Cayenne GTS made its debut. And that time is now as the German luxury sports carmaker just officially revealed the updated 2025 Cayenne GTS.

Like Cayenne GTS's of generations past, the GTS retains its spot in the Cayenne lineup as an upper-mid-level spec variant, slotting above the S model and under the Turbo GT. If you're new to the world of Porsche Cayennes, think of the GTS as being somewhat similar to an equivalent BMW M Sport, Mercedes-AMG Sport, or Audi S-Line model, or the cheaper, half-baked, but still very good versions of the full-fledged performance versions. In the Cayenne's case, the Turbo GT is the performance range topper.

As such, the Cayenne GTS's equipment roster reflects its mid-upper tier placement in the range. The specs include the same twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 as the previous model, though with output upped by 40 horses and 30 torques for a grand total of 493 horsepower and 487 pound-feet, performance-tuned suspension from the Turbo S, more aggressive exterior and interior appointments, and of course, a higher price than the base model or mid-range S out of the gas-only versions.

The 2025 Cayenne DTS Is Still Not Shy About Being Able to Go Fast

Second to the top-spec Turbo GT, the GTS certainly is and never was shy about speed. This time around, Porsche claims a 0-60 time of just 4.2 seconds, versus the old model's 4.5, and a top track speed of 171 MPH.

Though going fast in a straight line isn't the Cayenne GTS's only party piece, as Porsche proved what's possible when it comes to bending the laws of physics and making a two-plus ton luxury SUV perform and handle like a heavyweight sports car. That's all thanks to the Cayenne GTS's standard PASM (Porsche Active Suspension Management) adaptive damper system, Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus for the differentials, and a lower ride height than other air suspension-equipped Cayennes. Making it even more back road ready is Porsche's optional advanced Dynamic Chassis Control active roll bar stabilization system, which improves body control even more.

Should one want to get the most handling performance out of a Cayenne GTS right off of the factory assembly line, one can opt for a coupe with the Lightweight Sport Package that could reduce weight by up to 55 pounds.

Sporty Appointments, Taycan-Inspired Interior

Appearance wise, the most notable differences, like previous Cayenne GTS models, include a redesigned front fascia with larger intake vents, shadow-black headlights, and red brake calipers, lower side skirts, and window surrounds, rocker panels, and front bumper inserts painted in high-gloss black, as well as larger exhaust pipes, compliments of the standard Sport Exhaust System—the latter of which are now painted dark bronze instead of black. And it's all finished with new 21-inch RS Spyder Design wheels in anthracite grey.

Like other variants based on the facelifted 2023 Cayenne, the GTS inherits the same Taycan-inspired interior with its piano black finishes, massive integrated infotainment screen, and minimal center console-placed button array. Though like the exterior, the interior receives a range of sporty appointments bespoke to the GTS model such as plentiful use of Porsche's Race Tex faux-leather on the heated GT Sport steering wheel, the armrests, foor panels, and roofliner. Though further customization is available with the additional GTS interior packages.

Should you want to scoop up the latest and greatest 2025 Porsche Cayenne GTS, you'll have to set a side a nice lump sum of $129,500, before taxes, registration, fees, and destination with dealer arrivals beginning in fall of this year.
